 July 21: A Significant Day in Christian History


2016: The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) hosted ‘A Day of Prayer for Nigeria’ at The National Stadium, Abuja. The event saw the gathering of prominent Christian leaders including Pastor W.F. Kumuyi, Bishop David Oyedepo, Bishop Wale Oke, Bishop David Abioye, Pastor Paul Adefarasin, Pastor Paul Enenche, Most Rev. Nicholas Okoh, and Dr. Samuel Chukwuemeka Kanu Uche. Professor Yemi Osinbajo, then Vice President of Nigeria, also attended, emphasizing the national and spiritual significance of the occasion.



2019: Reverend Felix Meduoye, who had served as the General Overseer of the Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria for eight years, handed over leadership to Reverend Samuel Aboyeji upon reaching the statutory retirement age of 70. Reverend Meduoye’s tenure was marked by significant growth and impact within the church.


2014: Evangel Television Limited, a faith-based television station founded by the Assemblies of God Church in Nigeria, was officially registered. The channel has since contributed to the broadcasting of Christian content and ministry activities.


1936: Missionary Bill McChesney was born. McChesney dedicated his life to missions in the Republic of Congo and was martyred at the age of 28. His legacy continues to inspire Christian missionary work.
